Welcome to Rolbaken

Rolbaken, Norwegian for “rolling hills", is an apt name for this little farm, which lies in the southwestern foothills of the Kammanassie Mountains. The farm nestles in a long valley, only 40kms from Oudtshoorn, and has magnificent views of both the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountains.

Your hosts, Dick and Mary Carr, farm with Rose Geranium for the essential oil market. The farm is on the verge of receiving new status as a nature reserve with Cape Nature. Our dream is to begin a breeding program for the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra population that lives in the Kammanassie Mountains.

The guesthouse is situated on top of a hill and has its own garden which is safe for children and pets.

Originally the local schoolhouse, it has been renovated to include 3 en-suite bedrooms, dining room, lounge, fully equipped kitchen, braai facilities and large verandah with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding farmland.

Rolbaken is the perfect farm getaway for families and friends.
